Should the news broadcast about suicide and suicide attempts or keep quiet about them? Is it preventing copycat cases or just hiding what needs to be said?
Is the government doing the right thing by trying to hide suicides and suicide attempts from us? Are they protecting us from ourselves? What are they doing to try to help stop suicides? Are they donating money to stop it? I hear that there are organizations in the United States that help you commit suicide and they even tell you ways on how to commit suicide the network is called The Final Exit Network. (Humphrey, Katie. "Final Exit Network at Center of Suicide Case." Star Tribune. 08 May 2012: A.1. SIRS Issues Researcher. Web. 12 Oct 2012.)Sometimes they are even there to when the person commits suicides what are they doing to stop these groups of people? I have also heard that landmarks have an attraction to people with suicides. On some bridges they have installed nets to try and stop people from jumping. (DiBlasio, Natalie. "Landmarks Have Fatal Attraction.")

How can you tell?
How can you tell if someone is having suicidal thoughts? Sometimes you can’t tell. One day they are at the top of the world they have friends, a caring family, and plenty of food and clothes. The next day they are dead. Other times if a school believes that a child is having suicidal thoughts they will have them go to a therapist who will tell the school if the child is having suicidal thoughts but the school doesn’t have to tell the family of the child. People say that suicidal thoughts are catching. If your friend attempts suicide or commits it you are more likely to commit suicide. So sometimes the schools have the closest friends checked out to see if they are having suicidal thoughts after their friend died and the school doesn’t have to tell these families eith There have been many studies to see if broadcasting about suicides will lead to more suicides. Kelly Egan’s study proved that in certain parts of the world like Russia if you broadcast about suicide or suicide attempts copy cat cases are sure happen. There is a significant evidence base demonstrating that media coverage of suicide and suicide attempts is linked to copycat suicides among youth and young adults less than 24 years of age. (Egan, Kelly. "Suicide Is Painful, and We Need to Talk About It." Ottawa Citizen (Ottawa, Canada). 08 Mar 2009: A5. SIRS Issues Researcher. Web. 10 Oct 2012)
A problem in russia .
In Russia they are having a big problem with suicide among young people. It all started when two 14-year-old girls hand in hand jumped from the 16th floor of an apartment building. The week following the girls jumping there were at least 10 more suicides most of them similar. One boy jumped from the top floor of a hospital. Two other girls jumped from the top floor of an apartment building that was still being built. And the week following these suicides there have been an estimated 6 more suicides and the president of Russia wants to keep all the deaths as quiet as possible. (Kates, Glenn. "A Spate of Teenage Suicides Alarms Russians." New York Times. 20 Apr 2012: A.4. SIRS Issues Researcher. Web. 09 Oct 2012.)
Overdosing and anti-deprssants.
Overdosing is a common way to commit suicide. Anti-Deprssants are also linked to suicide and violence in teens and young adults.
suicide and landmarks
Landmarks attract people with suicidal thoughts because they think that if they die in a public place they will get a lot more attention then they ever did before they committed suicide and they hope that others like them will follow their example. The week of May 24, 2012 there were two suicide attempts at Niagara Falls one of the two is said to be dead the other was rescued at the last possible second.
